Tyrone hosted Donegal in the Nicky Rackard Cup on Saturday at Killyclogher. In front of a large and vocal support hopes were high that the Red Hands would prevail over their old adversaries.

However within the opening minutes of the game it became clear Donegal meant business. A goal inside three minutes from the stick of David Flynn gave the visitors the perfect start. Tyrone responded well and wind assisted they hit points from Damien Casey, Lorcan Devlin and Chris Kearns to move ahead.

Donegal continued to dominate possession and with Declan Coulter and Ciaran Mathewson in fine form they reached the break leading 1-10 to 0-7.

The second half saw Donegal produce some excellent hurling with Jamesie Donnelly, Danny Cullen and Joe Boyle driving them on.

Tyrone did find the net midway through the second half Cortney of Padraig Mc Hugh but they rarely threatened the Donegal goal and it was clear they the Tir Chonaill lads were benefiting greatly from the experience of competing in Division 2B.

Coulter, Flynn and Gerry Gilmore all added points as Donegal eased to a 1-26 to 1-12 win.

Next up for Tyrone is a must win clash with Leitrim on the 2nd of June.
