Tyrone Win Brian Mc Lernon Cup
Tuesday 15.08.2023

Tyrone enjoyed a comprehensive win over neighbours Donegal in Saturday’s Brian McLernon Cup final. After a very impressive first half display in which James Daly, Michael Mullin and Eoin Long were outstanding the young Red Hands led 0-7 to 0-2 at the break. Among the first half scorers for Tyrone were Darren Mc Anespie, Peter Colton and Eoin Long while Cathal Doherty and Thomas Lenehan got the Donegal scores.
Donegal had wind advantage in the second half but it was Tyrone who looked the part after the break. A Padraig Donaghy goal early in the second half gave Tyrone the perfect start and they sealed the win with a second goal midway through the half from Mark Kennedy following superb play by corner back JP Doris. Others to get on the scoresheet were Long, Colton and Donaghy.
