Tyrone Under 21s got their Cremartin Cup campaign off to a winning start with a comfortable 1-13 to 0-9 win over neighbours Fermanagh at Pomeroy on Saturday afternoon. The Red Hands got off to the perfect start when full forward John Mc Cullagh found the net after 5 minutes. Kevin Mossey and Peter Harte weighed in with points before an outstanding catch from Mc Cullagh saw him off load the ball to Shea Mc Guigan for the score of the game after 11 minutes. Fermanagh hit back with a couple of points from Ronan Ferguson and one from Johnathan Feely before a Niall Gavin brace established a six point lead again. In the closing stages of the half Feely and Harte exchanged points as Tyrone led 1-8 to 0-6 at the break.

The second half failed to produce as many scores though centre half forward Harte was outstanding for his side hitting another four points with all but one coming from play. Feely replied with two for the Erne men but in truth Tyrone were never troubled and eased to a comfortable seven point win. This was a good all round team performance and it augurs well for the season ahead considering the likes of Niall Mc Kenna, Gavin Teague, Mattie Donnelly, Ronan Mc Nabb, Diarmuid Mc Nulty and Ryan Pickering were all watching from the sidelines. Next up for Raymond Munroe’s side is an away trip to Down.
