Tyrone’s Prospects Boosted With Gormley’s Return To Training
Thursday 27.02.2014
Tyrone’s prospects for the 2014 season received a considerable boost this week with the return to training of triple all Ireland winning defender Conor Gormley. The Carrickmore man was outstanding for the county side last season but there were many who feared that Mickey Harte’s most experienced defender might decide to call it a day on a county career that has seen him win every honour in the game.
However Gormley returned to county training on Tuesday night and his willingness to commit to the Tyrone cause for another year is a huge boost to the manager and the panel. Having a player of Conor Gormley’s experience and quality available for selection gives the manager so many additional options in terms of line outs and game plans. The veteran Carrickmore man has few peers when it comes to defending and Tyrone will certainly be a much tougher proposition with Gormley on the team.
