U14 League Wrap Up

The latest round of U14 league fixtures took place on Saturday afternoon with action in all grades. Castlederg made the short trip to play Drumquin and it proved to be a fruitful journey as they came away with a 4-10 to 1-9 victory. Darren Traynor [1-4], Ben Harper [1-1], Connell Keyes [1-1] and Conor Harper [4] were among the scorers for the St.Eugenes. Stephen McBride [1-2], James O’Kane [0-2], Cormac Rodgers [0-2], Ryan McGoldrick, Oisin McMenamin and Jamie McAleer were the Wolfe Tones’ marksmen on the day.

Urney were emphatic winners over Fintona. The St.Columbas fielded a very young side but they all played well with eleven year old Tiarnan Langan [2-5], twelve year old Sean Maxwell [1-1], Danny Doherty [1-3] and eleven year old Jason Langan [0-3] among their scorers with twelve year old duo Conor McGrenra and Kyle McBride and eleven year old Matthew Sproule all to the fore for the winners. Moortown returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory over Pomeroy with Nathan Hurl [3-4] and Jamie Devlin [2-6] in fine scoring form for the St.Malachys with Paddy Quinn and Rian Mallon in defence and Eoin Quinn and Rian McLernon in midfield playing well for the St.Malachys as well.

Loughmacrory had a good win as well with Colm Logue, Dara Curran and Anton Fox playing well as an amazing game finished 8-10 to 8-9. Dromore “B” edged past Owen Roes 4-2 to 1-8 with Jamie Louis Law [2-0], Caolan McCusker [1-0], Liam McArdle [1-0] and Oisin McConnell [0-2] their scorers on a day when Mark McGale and Phelim Gallagher both stood out in defence. Omagh had a comfortable win over Beragh with Cathaoir Donnelly [1-3], Dean McKenna and Conor Martin the Red Knights’ scorers on the day.

Glenelly turned on the style when they had a convincing win over Cappagh “B”. Fergus O’Neill [1-3], Stephen McGarvey [2-1], Michael McMullan [0-4], Darren Sheerin [1-0], Aodhan McConnell, Pauric McBride and Ciaran Clerkin were their scorers with keeper Cormac McConnell, defenders Jamie McCrory and Rory Kennedy, midfielders Fergus O’Neill and Michael McMullan and attackers Darren Sheerin and Stephen McGarvey all playing well for them. Newtownstewart got the better of Errigal Ciaran with Tori Nicholas hitting a superb 2-7, Dominic Devine getting 2-1 and Jake McHugh and Lorcan Curran featuring on the scoresheet as well.
