U14 Wrap Up

Round five of the U14 leagues took place on Wednesday evening. Eskra beat Brackaville 5-11 to 4-7 away from home with Ciaran Taggart scoring 3-4 and Henry McCarney and Conal Murray also on target on a night when the winners had strong performances from Mark Early, Kealan McGirr and Niall McCann in defence. Urney were 4-12 to 3-9 winners over Tattyreagh with D Maxwell scoring two goals, D Doherty getting 1-5, J Lafferty getting their other goal Cormac Glackin and Conor McGrenra playing well for them on the night. Dromore were comfortable winners over Errigal Ciaran with Ciaran McDermott, Mark McGrade, Padraig Quinn, Pearse McNabb and Ruairi Teague playing well in defence with Cahir Goodwin, Ross Slevin, John McCrory, Joe McCusker and Caolan McCarron all among the scores with Oran Sludden hitting a magnificent 6-9.

Castlederg finished strongly getting the better of Glenelly with Conor Harper and Shane Carlin among their goals and Conor Ramsey playing well in defence. Best for Glenelly were Jamie McCrory and Rory Kennedy in defence, Michael McMullan and Fergus O’Neill in midfield and Aodhan McConnell and Nathan McLaughlin up front. Michael McMullan [2-0], Nathan McLaughlin [1-1], Aodhan McConnell [1-0], Fergus O’Neill [2] and Ciaran Clerkin [1] were the Glenelly scorers on the night. A strong second half display saw Donaghmore pull away from Moy to record a comfortable victory. Michael Conroy was in fine form for Moy scoring 4-4, James Birt got 1-2 with Andrew Mullen, Sean Lynch, Luke Dynes, Gavin Kelly, Emmett Lavery and Diarmuid McKeown all playing well for them.

Moortown had a convincing win away to Galbally with Oisin McVeigh hitting 1-6 and Eoghan Murphy bagging a couple of goals with Sean Kelly and Conor McVeigh in defence, Tarlach Quinn and Callum Gallagher in midfield and Eunan Devlin and Sean McKenna up front all playing well for them. Marc Lennon and Cathal Kelly were the Pearses’ best performers in a disappointing display from the hosts.
