The second round of fixtures in the U16 League took place on Monday night with action right across the grades. Dungannon travelled to the Loughshore to take on Derrylaughan and they came away with a resounding victory to get their first points on the board. Dailigh Jones and Mark McKearney both scored two goals with Jack McKearney and Gary Molloy both playing well for the Clarkes. James Donnelly 1-3, Shane Crew 0-3, Brian Kennedy 0-3, Gavin Corr 0-1 and Paul Donnelly 0-1 were the scorers for the Kevin Barrys.

Galbally played host to Omagh at Pearse Park and they came out on top on a 2-13 to 0-12 score line. Patrick Quinn, Adam Arthurs, Peter Quinn, Liam Rafferty and Mark Quinn featured among the points for the winners with Mark Donnelly and Colm McAleer getting their goals. Diarmuid O’Doherty, Caolan Moss and Nathan Conway all registered points for the St.Endas.

Moy made the short trip to play neighbours Eglish and came out on the wrong end of a narrow 1-12 to 1-11 scoreline on a night when a draw would probably have been a fair result. It was 0-6 each at the break and Eglish hit the front on the restart only for Moy to respond to take the lead. Eglish though came with a late rally that won them two frees which they converted to edge the verdict. Philip Mallon 1-3, Ryan Coleman 0-3, Francie Kelly 0-2, Michael Conroy 0-1, Tom Loughran 0-1 and Diarmuid McKeown 0-1 were the Moy scorers on the night.

Pomeroy were in fine form as they defeated Clonoe 4-11 to 1-8. Aidan Woods top scored for the young Plunketts with 2-5 to his name with Aidan McKenna 1-1, Jack Devlin 1-1, Sean Doran 0-2 and Ronan Lagan their other scorers on the night. Errigal Ciaran and Fintona played out an entertaining 2-9 each draw. Francis McConville was the Dunmoyle based lads best player with Andrew McGrath 2-3, Eoin Keenan, Reece Partington, Cathal Starrs and Maurice McCloughan on target for the Pearses. Tattyreagh were emphatic winners over Aghaloo with Eoin Murray leading the way in the scoring stakes with an impressive 2-6 to his name with Elan Coleman 1-2, James Darcy 1-0, Mark Gilloway 1-0, Jarlath McDonagh 1-0, Peadar Mullan 0-3 and Gerard McDonald 0-1 all scoring as well.

Gortin came away from Clann na Gael with a 3-11 to 2-4 victory with Ciaran Brolly, Sean Og McAleer, Patrick McCullagh, Niall Tracey and Caolan O’Neill doing the scoring in an impressive display. Trillick edged past Omagh “B” 3-9 to 3-8 with the Worley twins, Ryan Kelly, Jamie Kelly and Michael Gallagher all playing well for the St.Macartans with Ryan Kelly converting a last minute free to win it.

Stewartstown were comfortable winners over Eskra with Mark O’Neill, Shay Burke, Dylan McElhatton, Rory Kennedy and James Mitchell getting their scores on a night when the Harps had good displays from Nathan McNally, Tony O’Donnell, Steven Talbot, Rory Kennedy and Fergal Mulgrew. Kieran Taggart, Caolan McGirr and Cathal Arkinson were among the Emmetts’ best performers.
