U17 Hurling Title For Tyrone

Tyrone under 17s travelled to Owenbeg on Saturday afternoon to take on Derry in the final of the Ulster Minor Shield and came away convincing winners on a final score line of 1-13 to 0-7.

This was a really good tight team display with every player doing his level best to bring the silver ware back to the Red Hand County. With Dungannon youngster Cormac Mc Erlean accounting for 0-10 and Cahir Cassidy getting the all important first half goal Tyrone looked assured and on top from early on.

Scorers for Tyrone on the day were Cormac Mc Erlean 0-10, Cahir Cassidy 1-0, Caolan Grimes, Daire Sally and Shane Corrigan 0-1 apiece.

Unfortunately for Tyrone the county’s two Camogie sides both lost their respective games today. Further details to follow.
