There were wins for Kildress Wolfe Tones (Grade 2) and Stewartstown Harps (Grade1) in Sunday afternoon’s two Under 21 finals.

Kildress defeated neighbours Greencastle convincingly on a score line of 3-9 to 0-5. The Wolfe Tones played against the breeze in the opening half but their tenacious defence held Greencastle scoreless for the opening twenty minutes.

During that period they registered points from Matthew Mc Guigan, Colum Loughran and Enda Mc Aleer to put themselves in a strong position. Greencastle eventually found their shooting boots with scores from Gabhan Slane, Sean Fox and Jordan Gumley drawing the game as the clock ticked towards the half time whistle. However Kildress created one final chance and a score from the impressive Mc Guigan sent them in leading 0-5 to 0-4 at the break.

FullSizeRender (7)Greencastle needed to make a strong start to the second half but that failed to materialise and wind assisted Kildress piled forward in search of scores. Goals from Corey Holland and Colum Loughran put them in total command before a Darren O’Kane major and a brace of further points from Mc Guigan sealed the title for the Wolfe Tones on a final score of 3-9 to 0-5.
