Rock St Patrick’s cruised to the Ulster Junior Football championship tonight in Owenbeg on Saturday night after the easily accounted for Donegal champions Urris. Last night Conor McCreesh was in Bundoran to collect his top scorer of the year and All Star Right Corner forward jersey. Tonight in Owenbeg he finished with 1-6 in another masterful display.

He opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a long range point from a free before Urris hit back with a free of their own from Kevin McLaughlin. Two further scores from McCreesh had Rock 0-4 to 0-2 ahead by the 21st minute before James McCreesh got in on the act firing a goal bound shot over the bar. Rock’s final score of the opening half came from the boot of Eamon Ward. They led 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval.

The St Patrick’s men had the perfect start to the second half when Conor McCreesh rattled the ball into the net in the 33rd minute, which was followed by a Tommy Bloomer long range point. Urris looked rattled at this point but to their credit Kevin McLaughin kicked a free in the 35th minute to keep his side in the game.

McCreesh and McLaughlin traded the next two points to leave Rock 1-8 to 0-6 up with 15 minutes to go however the game was ended as a contest seconds later when Eamon Ward found the net for Rock in the 46th minute. McCreesh and McWilliams piled on the agony for Urris who trailed 2-10 to 0-5 with ten minutes to go. Mark and Kevin McLaughlin added Urris’ last two points of the game for the Donegal side and it was left to Ward and Kolbolm to finish the game with two further points. Final Score – Rock 2-12 Urris 0-7
