Eoghan Ruadh (Tyrone) versus Noamh Eoin (Antrim)

Last Sunday the Dungannon side disposed of Fermanagh Club Lisbellaw in the 1st of the 1/4 Finals. Lisbellaw had come into the game full of confidence, especially of the back of their senior side’s Ulster Intermediate win. But the Young Eoghan Ruadh lads performed well throughout and strolled to a 4-13 to 0-3 Victory, with Goals from Duibhir Marshall, Matthew Mulgrew & Ciaran McCrudden.
Next up for the Ruadh charges is the tough prospect of facing one the most successful underage teams in Ulster over recent years, St. Johns of Antrim. The ‘Johnnies’ are the current Ulster Minor Champions while they can also boast of being winners of Antrim titles, and 2 All-Ireland Feiles 3 & 5 years ago and the current team is made up mostly from those two sides.  Johnson brothers Ciaran & Conor are integral to the success of the team, with powerful U16 Donal Nugent & Michael Bradley both fine scoring forwards.
Dungannon are only too aware of the size of the task in hand, and will no doubt give everything they have to make the final. The leadership qualities of Ruairi Devlin, Michael Mannelly & Michael Cunningham will be essential if they are to challenge the ‘Johnnies’. In the Tyrone final, Dungannon scored 4-20 from play, with all 6 forwards getting on score-sheet. This scoring prowess will be essential come 2pm Sunday.
All roads lead to Ballinascreen Sunday, to see what should be an interesting and exciting game.
