There was a busy programme of under fourteen league games this afternoon across all the grades. Dromore showed their quality and class with a 7-12 to 2-4 win over Carrickmore. Oran Sludden was tormentor in chief for the winners hitting 4-2 while Pearse Mc Nabb, Nathan Mc Carron and Mark Mc Grade all contributed handsomely to the win. Dromore’s second string found Drumquin in uncompromising mood as the Wolfe Tones recorded a 5-6 to 0-2 win. Among their scorers were Jamie Mc Aleer 1-0, Cormac Rodgers 1-2, Oisin Mc Menamin1-1, Stephen Mc Bride 1-3 and Stephen Mc Girr 1-0. Jamie Law and Eunan Edgar battled hard for Dromore.

Urney recorded a very convincing 11-9 to 1-1 win over Trillick “B”with several players finding form and finding the net. Danny Doherty top scored with three goals while Tiarnan Langan hit two and was joined on the scoreboard by Oran Elliot, Jake Lafferty and Paddy Mc Hugh. Castlederg defeated Killyclogher “B” in a high scoring and entertaining game 6-14 to 3-01. Darren Traynor struck 3-01 with Conor Harper getting 1-06 for the winners. Special mention also to James Campbell and Lorcan Mc Guigan who were outstanding for the winners.

Eskra and Killyman played out an entertaining 3-7 to 2-8 game with the Emmetts just sneaking home in the end. A Conal Murray goal in the dying minutes sealed a great late comeback which saw the winners coming from seven down with ten minutes to go to win. Others to get on the scoreboard were Caolan Mc Girr, Nathan Mc Glinchey,Mark Early and Ciaran Taggart.

Killeeshil took on Clonoe O’Rahillys and defeated them on a score-line of 5-14 to 1-4. Louis Conlon and Thomas Hoy found themselves among the goals while there were good displays from Mattie Joe Mc Kenna and Shea Skeffington in defence, Liam Hughes in midfield and Niall Mc Elvogue and Jason Doyle in the forwards. Local rivals Pomeroy and Galbally locked horns with the Pearses coming out on top by ten points 4-13 to 4-3. Pomeroy’s three goals came late in the match when the result was already determined. Cathal Kelly, Cormac Donnelly and Dara Corrigan worked hard in defence for the winners while Marc Lennon and Conor Quinn put in a good hour’s work in midfield. Up front the majority of the scoring threat came from Conor Donaghy, Peadar Mc Caughey, and Cormac Mc Cool.

Beragh lost to neighbours Loughmacrory 4-7 to 3-3 in a very good game of football. The losers battled hard throughout with their scores coming from Eoin Grimes 1-1, Ronan Mc Guinness 1-0, Cahir Donnelly 1-0 and a point each for Cahir Martin and Oisin Clarke.

A very young Owen Roes side were no match for an impressive Glenelly side in today’s opening U14 fixture with Glenelly winning 8-12 to 1-3. Niall McAleer (1-1), and a couple of Aaron McGonigle points were all that the visitors could muster on the day.

There was good showings from Pearse Devine, McAleer and McGonigle, and the Leckpatrick lads will know that with age on their side better days await. Best for Glenelly were Dara O’Hagan and Rory Kennedy in defence, Michael McMullan and Fergus O’Neill in midfield and Ciaran Clerkin, Gavin McGarvey and Nathan McLaughlin up front. Moortown had a comfortable 3-14 to 2-2 win over Coalisland. Oran Corr, Michael Kelly and Eoin Murphy got the St.Malachy’s goals with Ryan Mallon, Sean Kelly and Thomas Doris supplying points on a day when Patrick Quinn played well in the winners defence. Greencastle edged past neighbours Gortin on a 3-12 to 4-5 score line. Patrick McElhatton and Jordan Gormley did most of the scoring for the winners with Ciaran Coyle playing well for them as well. Sean Og McAleer hit 1-4 for Gortin with Ciaran Brolly contributing 2-1. Keeper Ruairi O’Neill made a few good saves to keep Gortin in the game while Sean Og McAleer missed a penalty with the last kick of the game. Niall McKenna and Ciaran Brolly both played well in midfield for Gortin. Naomh Mhuire defeated Derrylaughan 7-14 to 3-8 with Shane Crewe, Sean Cullen, Owen Cushnahan and Cahal Canavan best on the day for the young Kevin Barrys
