Under 16 League Update

Loughmacrory travelled across the parish tonight to take on Carrickmore in the latest round of the under 16 league and came away with a convincing 2-12 to 3-6 win. The home side got off to a great start with a Mc Garrity goal from the penalty spot but Loughmacrory dominated the key battles and with Kevin Collins in fine form were soon ahead. The Loch hit the net twice in the first half through Collins and PJ O’Donnell and had points from Pauric Meenan, Eamon Logue, Pearse and Niall Grimes to send them in at the break leading 2-5 to 1-5. The Loch lads maintained their control in the second half and although Carrickmore scored goals through Paddy Mc Crory and Sean Loughran, points from Collins (4), Niall Grimes (2) and Pauric Meenan were enough to see the Loch home 2-12 to 3-6.

Killyclogher had to come from three points down to beat Errigal Ciaran at Ballinamullan tonight eventually winning by five points. Sean Burns started at corner forward for the home side and helped himself to 1-2 as he led the Errigal defence a merry dance all evening. Nathan Donnelly and Owen Winters had tremendous games for Killyclogher who in spite of being short several key players were deserving winners in the end. Paudge McAnenly scored 1-5 for Errigal Ciaran, Paddy O’Neill got four points and Niall Kelly got their other goal on a night when Peter Cassidy, Stevie Monaghan and Padraig McGirr all played well for them.

Brackaville made the trip to Moortown and came away with a superb win in a high scoring encounter. Che O’Donnell top scored for the Roes with an impressive 2-9 to his name with Marcus Mackle [1-4], Caolan Barrett [1-2], Rian McHugh [2] and Dwayne McKenna their other scorers in a 4-18 to 4-11 victory.  Castlederg had a good 8-14 to 4-5 win with Patrick Porter top scoring with 3-3 with good performances coming from Martin Baxter, Charlie McAnea, Kosta Savanis, Daire Keyes, Ryan McGrath and Ruairi Connolly. Donaghmore won 2-11 to 1-9 with Philip Donnelly and Caolan Mulgrew getting the St.Patricks goals and Matthew McIlvanna outstanding in defence. Naomh Padraig lost out to Killeeshil on a 3-10 to 0-7 score line with Donal Robinson hitting half a dozen points for the Derrtresk/Brocagh combination with Sean McFall getting their other point.

Ardboe were in fine form as they beat Eglish 6-13 to 1-6. Michael Lynn [2-3], Barry Devlin [1-1], David Mulgrew [4], Aiden O’Neill [4], Caolan Mallaghan [1-0] and Fintan Quinn [1-0] were among the scorers for the Rossas in a good all round performance. Omagh defeated Strabane 2-10 to 2-3 with William McCauley and Luke Britton best for the Sigersons. Points from Pauric Murphy, Ruairi Drumm, Aaron McCutcheon and Jude Campbell saw the St.Endas lead 0-9 to 0-0 at half time and they never looked back with Jude Campbell and Pauric Murphy getting second half goals.  Omagh U16 development also picked up a win when they defeated neighbours Drumragh 5-3 to 1-13 at Healy Park. Nathan McBride scored an early goal for Omagh with Niall McCaffrey and Chris O’Donnell getting points. McBride scored another goal while Oisin Kerlin also found the net. Drumragh hit back with four unswerered points but McBride completed his hat trick to ensure victory.

Greencastle defeated Tattyreagh 3-15 to 1-4 with Sean Fox hitting seven points for the winners with Sean Gill [1-0], Joe Cartin [2] and Eoin Murray [2] on target for the Tatts. Stewartstown won 6-5 to 2-8 away to KIldress with Dan Lowe scoring 2-3 and Macauly Quinn, Darren Devlin, Shay O’Neill and Callan Burke all scoring goals as well on a night when they were best served by Shane Whitehouse, Conor Quinn, Shay Devlin and Shay O’Neill.
