Augher have lifted the Grade Two under twenty one title following a superb second half showing against Dungannon Clarkes. The home side were second best at times during the opening thirty minutes but moved into overdrive in the second half with top scorer Sean Hackett leading the way for his side with a personal haul of 1-05 and fittingly substitute Eugene Mc Kenna, a famous name from Augher finished the scoring for the winners as they romped home 3-15 to 0-07.

Augher continue to control the game and play well in both attack and defence. Two goals inside the space of a minute from Colm Sherry and Sean Hackett have all but won the title for Augher as they now lead 3-12 to 0-07 with less than two minutes of the final remaining.

With ten minutes of the game left last year’s beaten finalists Augher have really turned this game on its head. They have held Dungannon scoreless thus far in the second half and now lead 1-10 to 0-07 following some fine points from Darragh Donnelly and a goal from substitute Cathal Mc Kenna. With time against them it would take a huge effort from Dungannon to change the likely outcome of this one.

Augher are now playing with the advantage of the slight breeze and have started the second half well. Two points from the boot of Sean Hackett have brought the sides level 0-07 apiece with just seven minutes of the second half played.

It is now half time at Fr Hackett Park in Augher and although Dungannon had bossed the game for long periods of the first half they only lead by two at the break. Augher finished the half strongly and points from Declan Connolly and Raymond Mc Elroy closed the gap to 0-07 to 0-05 when the whistle sounded for the break. All to play for in the second half.

The Clarkes, who may have lost the toss to decide the venue of the game are making light of the long grass and heavy conditions as they lead 0-07 to 0-03 with five minutes left of the first half. Kiefer Morgan, Patrick Quinn and Matthew Walsh have all been on target while Augher’s only other scorer has been Darragh Donnelly.

Ten minutes into the game and Dungannon Clarkes lead 0-02 to 0-01 with both their scores coming from the boot of Adam Mallon. Augher’s reply came courtesy of Sean Hackett.
