Coalisland Fianna had a narrow but deserved win over Naomh Mhuire in this afternoon’s semi final edging the game 1-10 to 2-06. Scorers for the Fianna were C Quinn 0-7, C O’Hagan 0-1, G Woods 1-00, and a point each from Gerard Quinn and Sean Corr.
Kildress caused something of a shock with their 3-12 t o 1-11 win over hot favourites Stewartstown with the Wolfe Tones goals coming from Enda Mc Aleer, Peter Daly and Cormac Mc Nally while Daniel Lowe found the net for The Harps.
Pomeroy defeated neighbours Galbally 3-10 to 2-10 in a highly entertaining and very exciting contest this afternoon. Galbally started well and led 1-4 to 0-3 after an Enda Mc Garrity goal. However the Plunketts rallied and with Francis Burns on fine shooting form were level 1-4 to 0-7 at the break. A Matthew Rafferty goal and two from Gavin Goodfellow put Pomeroy in a very strong position as they hit 3-05 without reply. At that stage it looked like they might run away with it but back came Galbally with points from Ryan Hagan and Ronan Nugent and a goal from Mark Quinn to force an exciting finish that saw the crossbar hit no fewer than four times.
