The Paddy Ball Golf Classic which is taking place at Newtownstewart Golf Club on Saturday 24th August has now filled all available slots and, due to demand, more times have been made available this Friday (23rd) from 2.30pm.

The event has been organised by a combination of Paddy’s family, friends and fellow Gaels. Paddy enjoyed a very successful county career with Tyrone which spanned 13 years. During that time he represented the county at all levels. The undoubted high point of his county career was his appearance at left half-back in Tyrone’s first All Ireland Final in 1986 -v- Kerry.

Paddy was equally committed to his club, playing club football for over 25 years. He always played with his local parish team meaning that, allowing for various changes of name and catchment area over the years, he represented Owen Roe O’Neill’s, Aughabrack Daniel O’Connell’s and finally Clann na nGael. He also managed both Aughabrack Daniel O’Connell’s and Clann na nGael.

In 2012 Paddy developed a debilitating illness which has unfortunately necessitated this fundraising event. Proceeds will go towards assisting with Paddy’s care as well as providing support and equipment to help Paddy through his illness.

To enter or find out further information please contact Newtownstewart Golf Club on the telephone numbers shown on the attached poster.
