Team Talk Mag

Monaghan putting on a real show of strength and finishing here today and sending out an ominous message to the rest of the province about their intentions this year. They are looking hugely impressive as they now lead 2-20 to 1-05. A very one sided game today. Monaghan add another point and it finishes 2-21 to 1-05.

Catriona Mc Connell is clearly the best player on the pitch and sends over another point for her side. Tyrone respond with a point from Cathy Donnelly.

Shannon Quinn with a point and 16 minutes into the second half it is Monaghan 2-16, Tyrone 1-04.

Tyrone win a free and Joline Donnelly converts, first changes for Tyrone as Lycrecia Quinn and Catriona Mc Gahan come on for Emma Hegarty and Laura Mc Gillion.

Monaghan show no signs of letting up and it takes a brilliant save from Shannon Lynch to prevent a third Monaghan goal. However as the Tyrone defence struggles to clear the ball Monaghan pounce for a point to make it it 2-16 to 1-2.

The second half is underway and it is Monaghan who draw first blood but Tyrone respond with points from Joline Donnelly and Gemma Begley. Gemma Begley’s score coming from a free. Is the come back of all come backs on the cards? Monaghan 2-12, Tyrone 1-2

A forgettable first half for Tyrone as a Catriona Mc Connell inspired Monaghan blitzed them with 2-11 without reply to reach the break leading by fourteen points and appearing out of sight already. The Farney girls goals coming from Terese Mc Nally and a penalty from Catriona Mc Connell.

The misery continues and with twenty five minutes on the clock Monaghan move a further two points ahead. At this stage it will take a miracle for Gerry Moane’s Tyrone side to get something out of the game. 2-08 to 1-00 for Monaghan.

Monaghan continuing to dominate the game and demonstrating just why they are rated as the best team in Ulster as they now lead 2-6 to 1-00. Tyrone have failed to trouble the score keeper since getting that great start with the early goal.

15 minutes gone and it is Monaghan making all the running as they add another 1-2 with their goal coming from a penalty to lead 2-4 to 1-0 after 17 minutes of the first half.

A perfect start for the girls as they find the back of the net inside the first two minutes courtesy of a free from Carol Mc Glinchey but Monaghan respond well with a goal and two points to show they mean business.

The Tyrone Ladies team to take on Monaghan in the Ulster championship this afternoon is as follows: Shannon Lynch, Marai Donnelly, Laura Mc Gillion , Tori Mc Laughlin, Carol Dooher, Claire Scullion, Lynda Donnelly, Maura Mc Menamin, Shannon Quinn, Emma Hegarty, Gemma Begley, Carol Mc Glinchey, Joline Donnelly, Cathy Donnelly, Orla O’Neill.
