Ulster Win Match For Michaela

Tyrone quartet Joe Mc Mahon, Colm and Sean Cavanagh and Martin Penrose are lining out for Ulster in the game against Donegal at Casement Park this evening and with 20 minutes gone Ulster are leading the all Ireland champions 1-5 to 0-2. Martin Penrose has been pretty busy helping himself to 1-1 while Colm Cavanagh has also been on target.

It is half time at Casement Park and Ulster lead 1-6 to 0-4 with Donegal beginning to create a chance or two. There is a large crowd on what is quite a cool evening but they are all enjoying the fare on show.

Donegal open the scoring twenty seconds into the second half.

Ulster spurn a couple of chances to extend their lead.

Martin Penrose makes it 1-7 to 0-5 with a nicely converted left footed shot.

Mc Brearty converts a thirty metre free and it is now a four point match.

The same player adds to Donegal’s total and there are now three points between the sides

Great save by Mc Veigh in the Ulster goals ensures the lead remains intact and Ulster move four in front with a score from Benny Coulter.

Twelve minutes gone and Conor Mc Manus adds to the Ulster total, it is now 1-9 to 0-7.

Sean Cavanagh with a punched effort extends Ulster’s lead to six points.

Martin Penrose comes close to a goal but is denied by a fine save from Durcan.

Two quick points from Donegal and it is back to a four point game, 1-10 to 0-9.

Neil Gallagher bursts through to narrow the gap to three points.

Gibney misses a chance for a goal after being set up well by Sean Cavanagh.

Martin Penrose converts a rebounded chance and it is back to four points.

Conor Gormley enters the fray. Mc Brearty with a fine score and the gap is back to three points.

Gibney with another poor finish and the chance of a goal is lost.

Almost immediately Darren Hughes converts a goal after he initially fumbles the ball and that looks to be it for Ulster. Colm Cavanagh links well with his brother Sean and it is another point for Ulster.

Cathal Mc Carron comes onto the pitch to make it six Tyrone men on.

Time is almost up and Mc Brearty reduces the gap to six points.

Poor play by Darren Hughes presents Donegal with a goal for Mc Brearty

Final whistle and a great occasion in memory of Michaela as Ulster triumph by a goal on a final score of 2-12 to 1-12. Congrats to all for such a memorable and enjoyable night.
