Ulster Ease To Win Over Connacht

Three late points from Conleith Gilligan and Tyrone pair Martin Penrose and Owen Mulligan ensured the Ulster men ran out convincing winners on a final score line of 3-13 to 0-10 and are now through to the final of this year’s Railway cup.

Two more Connacht points.  Pretty much academic at this point.  Ulster 3-13 Connacht 0-10

GOAL – Martin Penrose after a wonderful Peter Harte run.  Ulster are well out the gate.  3-13 Connacht 0-8

50th minute. Benny Coulter finds Conleith Gilligan who fires it over the bar.  That’s the lead back to 11 again.  Ulster 2-13 Connacht 0-8

McKeever from play gets Ulster’s first point of the second half.  Ulster 2-11 Connacht 0-8

Peter Harte’s workrate today has been incredible.  He’s on the ball more than any other player so far.

Another Martin Penrose free moves Ulster nine clear.  Ulster 2-6 Connacht 0-3

GOAL – Mark Poland finds the net for Ulster again.  Peter Harte fires over another one shortly after that.  Ulster 2-5 Connacht 0-3

Owen Mulligan slots a point from wide out on the right.  Tyrone men to the fore once again.

Nickey Joyce gets a free back.  Ulster 1-3 Connacht 0-3

GOAL – Peter Harte is on fire this afternoon.  He cut through the Connacht defense and slots it to the net.

Conleith Gilligan puts Ulster in front with a point from play.

Another free.  This time Conor Mortimor slots a free to level the scores after 8 minutes.

Martin Penrose has converted a free in the 7th minute to put Ulster 0-2 to 0-1 ahead.
