Urney And Dungannon Win Minor Titles
Saturday 24.08.2024
Urney produced a fine display to deservedly claim the grade 4 Minor Championship title at the expense of Naomh Brid at Carrickmore on Saturday.
It was a game that the St.Columbas always looked to be in control of but the Brocagh/ Killyman combination made them work hard for their victory in the second half.
Seamus O Fionnalaigh, Sean O Longain and Corey MacCraith had early points for the winners with Conchobhar Redstone getting their first goal. Padriag O Coinn and Sean O Coinn had points for Naomh Brid but a MacCraith goal for Urney left it 2-5 to 0-2 at the break.
A Seamus MacPharlain point on the restart narrowed the gap for Naomh Brid but then the winners got their third goal via McCraith. Naomh Brid then enjoyed their best spell of the game with Padraig and Aodhan O Coinn getting a brace of points each but Urney closed the game out with points from Aodhan O’ Daimhin, Romhanach Mac Giolla Chirce and O’ Fionnalaigh to take the silverware.
