Urney Complete Minor Double
Wednesday 11.09.2024
Urney and Brackaville produced a highly entertaining and very competitive Grade Four Minor league final on Tuesday night under the lights at Gortacladdy. On a windy evening both sides enjoyed periods of control but ultimately it was the greater scoring threat from the St Columba’s that decided the outcome.

Brackaville played wind assisted in the first half and reached the break leading 0-8 to 0-4 with points from James Gillis, Callum Coyle, Conor Mc Guigan Cainan Rouse and Sean. Daly.
The young Roes found it tougher going in the second half as Urney upped the ante and made good use of the wind. Brackaville scored three points in the second half while their opponents got the all important goal from Aidan Devine. That score came right at the death when it was needed and when there was no coming back from it.

Jack Langan (0-5), Aidan Devine (1-1), Jamie Finlay (0-3), Conor Redstone (0-2) and a point apiece from Shea Corrigan and Jamie Mc Bride were the Urney scorers as the border men made it a minor league and championship double.
