Victory For Eoghain Ruadh In Ulster Minor Club Hurling Championship
Dungannon Eoghain Ruadh 4-12 Letterkenny 1-4
Letterkenny proved to be no match for a technically superior Dungannon Eoghain Ruadh outfit in this alarmingly one sided Ulster Minor Hurling Championship quarterfinal encounter, at Ballinascreen this afternoon.
The Donegal champions battled admirably to the final whistle, but they lacked the necessary strength and leadership to deal with a well tuned Dungannon outfit, who eased into a semi final meeting against Slaughtneill.
The game was effectively over as a contest by the break, as Dungannon established a vice like grip on the scoring stakes. Kevin Hughes, Conor McNally and Michael Maneely excelled in defence, as they kept the Letterkenny attack quiet and, with Tiernan Morgan and Thomas Lowe lording the midfield exchanges the Ruadh attack ran riot. Dara Mallon playing a leading role at full forward even though he failed to score. Ciaran McCrudden hit 2-2, while Damian Casey weighed in with a 1-5 tally. Ricky Kelly supplied the other goal as the Tyrone teenagers enjoyed a comprehensive seventeen point victory. Matthew Mulgrew, Thomas Lowe, Conor McNally and Tiernan Morgan also regsitering scores.
