Tyrone hurlers were caught cold by Warwickshire’s fast start in their Allianz Hurling League fixture on Sunday and that good start proved decisive in determining the outcome of this one.

A brace of early goals from Ian Dwyer and another major from the stick of Gary Lennon saw the visitors open up a fifteen point lead as they moved 3-9 to 0-3 in front of a stunned home side.

The Red Hands eventually found their rhythm and goals from Bryan Mc Gurk and Aidan Kelly helped reduce the gap to nine points as Warwickshire reached the break leading 3-11 to 2-5.

Tyrone continued their revival after the break with ace free taker Damian Casey landing three in a row to narrow the gap further. Unfortunately for the home side their comeback faded when they were reduced to fourteen men following a second yellow card for Tiernan Morgan and the visitors controlled the closing stages to take the points..
