Newtownstewart played host to Errigal Ciaran Thirds on Sunday afternoon in the division three promotion playoffs and they came out on top on a 3-11 to 1-14 scoreline. At two different stages in the game the St.Eugenes held a ten point lead but the visitors made them work hard for their victory. Aidan McSorley top scored for the winners with 1-6 to his name with Michael Coreless and Ryan Mayse getting their other goals. Pio McDermott weighed in with 1-5 for the winners while Caolan Tierney and Aodhan McCullagh contributed half a dozen points between them. Newtownstewart will now play Derrytresk with the winner of that game taking on Rock for a place in Intermediate football next season.
