Tyrone made a winning start in defence of their Ulster league title when they strolled to a 1-17 to 0-2 victory over Antrim at Garvaghey on Tuesday night. Ruairi McGlone, Lee Brennan, Michael Lynn and Enda Lynn all had early points and when Stephen McGrath crashed the ball to the roof of the net in the 20th minute you got the feeling that it was all over bar the shouting as they established a 1-9 to 0-1 interval lead. Shea Hamill, Ronan Nugent, Brennan, Sean Fox and defender Cillian McCann all tagged on second half points as they won without having to get into top gear. No doubt a stiffer test awaits this Saturday afternoon when they travel to Celtic Park to take on Derry in round two.
