Aghyaran Pip Urney In North Tyrone Derby

Two derbies two weeks in a row and two defeats won’t make pleasant reading for Urney fans following their surprise 1-12 to 0-10 loss at Aghyaran this evening. Indeed the visitors appeared set for another win at the break as they led 0-7 to 0-4 and seemed very much in control with points from Fergal Mc Nulty, Stephen Lafferty and Aidan Lynch while Caolan Dolan was on target for St Davog’s. However Aghyaran showed tremendous improvement and endeavour as they turned the game around in the third quarter with points from Shaun Byrne, Connolly and Sweeney. Lynch hit the post with a penalty for Urney and the game was still very much in the melting pot until Byrne landed a goal deep in injury time to send the home supporters away happy and make it two derby day defeats for Urney.
