St.Josephs Coalisland upset the odds at Edendork on Tuesday afternoon when they defeated reigning All Ireland champions Holy Trinity Cookstown in the Tyrone U16 Vocational Schools semi final. The champions led at the break with Ryan Owens and Ciaran McGeary among their points but a number of wides in the third quarter was to cost them dear. Owens and McGeary finished with three points each with James McGahan and Shea Kelly also on target but a second half goal from Cahir Quinn changed the complexion of the game. Daniel Lowe also found the range for the winners and with the contest level in the final minute Daryl Magee proved to be the match winner when he half volleyed the ball over the bar from out on the right wing. It was a hard working performance from St.Josephs as they won 1-6 to 0-8 with full back Caolan Corr and midfielder Macaulay Quinn to the fore. They now play either St.Ciarans Ballygawley or Dean Maguirc Carrickmore in the final.
