Allstar Awards For Tyrone College Players

The 2019/20 Danske Bank Ulster Schools Football and Hurling Allstars were announced in Belfast on Wednesday afternoon with Tyrone well represented winning six awards. Fionn Devlin and Cain Ferguson from the Eoghan Ruadh club in Dungannon and  and St.Patrick’s Academy and St.Ronan’s Lurgan respectively  were selected as full back and full forward on the Hurling team while there were four football awards. Omagh CBS got two namely keeper Oran Grimes and Daniel Fullerton from Killyclogher and Carrickmore respectively while St.Ciaran’s Ballygawley and Errigal Ciaran were doubly represented with awards for Cormac Quinn and Odhran Robinson.

Full-back : Fionn Devlin
School : St Patrick’s Academy Dungannon
Club: Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon.
Fionn is the second member of his family to collect an Ulster Schools’ All-star, following his brother Ruairí eight years ago.
Fionn won a Danske Bank Casement Cup medal with Scoileanna Thír Eoghain last year and has represented his school in both hurling and football.
He has represented Tyrone through the age-groups and won an All-Ireland under 14C medal and he also won an All-Ireland Féile na nGael medal with Eoghan Ruadh as well as two Ulster minor Shield medals.

 

Full-forward : Cain Ferguson
School : St Ronan’s Lurgan
Club: Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon
Cain is the first player from St Ronan’s College to collect an Ulster Schools’ Hurling All-star. Last year he was a key player for Scoileanna Thír Eoghain in their Danske Bank Casement Cup success.
Cain has represented Tyrone at all age-groups and has won an All-Ireland under 14 C title. He has recently been called into the senior panel for the 2020 season.
With Eoghan Ruadh he won an All-Ireland Féile na nGael medal as well as two Ulster minor Shield medals.

Goalkeeper : Oran Grimes
School : Omagh CBS
Club: Killyclogher
Oran has collected Danske Bank Nannery and MacCormack Cup medals with Omagh CBS and was on the team that lost the MacRory Cup final last March to St Michael’s Enniskillen while he also won an U14 medal with Dean Maguirc Carrickmore.
He was on the Tyrone side that won both the 2019 under 20 league and Ulster championship and with Killyclogher collected a Tyrone minor medal.

Right Corner Back : Cormac Quinn
School : St Ciaran’s Ballygawley
Club: Errigal Ciaran
Cormac has represented Tyrone at under-age level winning All-Ireland and Ulster under 17 titles in 2017 as well as a Buncrana Cup and Ulster league.
With Errigal Ciaran he has won Tyrone under 16 and two minor titles as well as a Reserve championship and was part of the club side that reached the Tyrone senior final in 2019

Midfield : Odhrán Robinson
School : St Ciaran’s Ballygawley
Club: Errigal Ciaran
Odhrán has won Tyrone one under 16 and two minor titles as well as a Reserve championship and was part of the club side that reached the Tyrone senior final in 2019. He has represented St Ciaran’s at all age-levels.

Full forward : Daniel Fullerton
School: Omagh CBS
Club: Carrickmore
Daniel is a winner of a Danske Bank Dalton Cup and MacCormack Cup with Omagh and has won an Ulster minor league title with Tyrone. With Carrickmore he has been involved in a plethora of county championship winning teams up to under 21 level and he has won an Ulster under 16 club title.
