Tonight’s senior league fixtures resulted in away wins for both Clonoe and Trillick. The Reds had an early start as they made the long run to the Loughshore to take on Moortown. Liam Donnelly’s men however will be delighted with the outcome winning by a single point on a score line of 2-15 to 3-11.Trillick dominated the first half and led 2-10 to 1-4 at the break with their goals coming from Niall Gormley and Daniel Mc Donald. Gormley and Mattie Donnelly helped themselves to a couple of points each before the break. The second half saw a home revival as Colum Campbell and Michael Hagan points started the comeback. A goal from Packie Quinn closed the gap even further but points from Mattie and Richard Donnelly kept Trillick in pole position. A Peter Devlin goal for Moortown narrowed the gap to the minimum with time running out and the home side almost stole it at the death when Mark Crozier’s goal bound effort rebounded off the post ensuring the visitors survived to take the  two points.

Clonoe and Eglish were all square on three points each at half time in a game played in atrocious conditions with Conor Mc Aliskey and Kieran Jordan getting first half scores for their respective sides. A second half goal by Colm Doris along with points from Stephen Mc Nulty and Patrick Doris appeared to tighten Clonoe’s grip on the game but the home side kept battling and scores from Caolan Daly and Peter Mc Cann meant there was only a point between the sides with ten minutes to go. However that was when Clonoe’s greater attacking threat came into its own as they hit four unanswered points, including two from PJ Lavery to win by five in the end 1-10 to 0-8.

These results give big Joe Mc Mahon a 100% start to his weekend forecasts as he opted for two away wins in tonight’s games and he will be hoping to build on that with tomorrow night’s fixtures.
