Clogher Claim Junior Title
Saturday 18.10.2025
Clogher produced a superb team performance to see off Drumragh and lift the Connolly’s of Moy Junior title at Healy Park on Saturday evening.
The winners came into this game as many people’s favourites following a very impressive league campaign. The Eire Ogs saved their best performance until the final as they opened up a 1-13 to 0-8 half time lead. They managed to keep their opponents at arms’ length throughout the second half restricting them to four second half points in spite of playing into the teeth of a very strong breeze.
With Marc Mc Connell and Ciaran Bogue running amok throughout the opening period Clogher’s Bogue opened the scoring with a turnover point before Marc Mc Connell capitalised on indecision in the Drumragh defence to fire to the net.

Michael Mc Caughey stretched the lead to six as Clogher capitalised on their fast start.
Drumragh took a while to settle but a strong run and a fine finish from Aaron Montgomery got the scoring started. Clogher replied with further points from Kieran Bogue and Conor Shiels as a brace oof two pointers took them nine clear.
Drumragh finally found their feet with Niall Mc Carney and Eoin Montgomery leading the comeback. Five points in a row reduced the gap to four with Mc Carney, Ben Monk and Kian Murphy all on target for Drumragh.
Sensing a comeback Marc Mc Connell and Barry Mc Kenna pointed before Mc Carney floated a delicious free kick over the bar to leave six between the sides. Marc Mc Connel’s speed allowed him to create a goal chance out of nothing and only the brilliance of Patrick Colgan in goals denied the Clogher lads a second goal.
The first half finished with Clogher on top leading 1-13 to 0-8 but they knew they had the elements to face after the restart and that would certainly ask questions of them.
However they continued playing front foot football throughout the second period with early points from Mc Connell, Cillian Barkey and Kieran Bogue. Drumragh struggled to win enough possession to put Clogher under any consistent pressure and with Kieran Bogue in outstanding form they eased to a comprehensive win and promotion back up to Intermediate football.
