Derrytresk, Tyrone’s smallest club, (58 houses)has been in existence
since 1903. All activities associated with the club would have been
unheard of outside of Tyrone, until the past weeks when they reached the
All-Ireland Junior Club Final. Following on from the semi-final, the
club has incurred a massive fine of €5000. As a way of helping to pay
this fine, the club is running several fund raising events, one of
which will take the format of an “Up For The Final” style night. Due
to this unforeseen circumstance and at short notice, it is hoped to run
this event on Friday 10th Feb in the club rooms.
Derrytresk are calling on Gaels from any and all clubs who would like to take part on the night to come along and add their support. If there are any high profile Gaelic sports persons willing to give of their time to help the club achieve their goal they are asked to contact Paul Hanna on 07919421157.
Any monies raised over the €5000, will be donated to a children’s charity, of the club’s choice.
