St.Patricks Academy Dungannon’s hopes of reaching the quarter finals of the MacRory Cup hang in the balance after a disappointing draw with St.Marys Magherafelt at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown on Monday afternoon. The Academy led 0-7 to 0-5 at halftime with Aidan McGarrity scoring a trio of points and Kevin O’Gorman, Conor Mallon, Ryan Devlin and Philip Donnelly also on target. Two early second half points from Devlin pushed Dungannon further in front before Magherafelt hit back to reduce the deficit to the minimum. With time running out Devlin and McGarrity both scored to push their side three in front but deep into injury time Magherafelt scored a goal direct from a free as it finished 0-11 to 1-8. The Academy now play St.Pats Armagh in their final game were they need to avoid defeat to make the knockout stages of the competition.
