Dromore Ladies GFC -v- Ardboe Ladies, League Round 6, 09/05/2023

 Dromore Minor Ladies  recorded an impressive away win over Ardboe on Tuesday evening.

Dromore got off to a great start with a goal from Caoimhe Corrigan two minutes into the first half.  Ardboe battled back making it a one point game before Dromore got their second goal of the match from the boot of Erin Slevin.  

Ardboe were enjoying plenty of possession but Dromore defended superbly with Niamh Colton, Tara McQuaid, Lauren Collins Meabh Maguire and Emma Maguire leading the way.  Further goals from Erin Barrett and Aine Gartland stretched the lead to eight points at the break. Ardboe’s first half scores came from Orla devlin, Cody-Lee Muldoon and Aimee Canavan.

Ardboe kept up the pressure in the second half scoring a point within seconds and a goal in the thirteenth minute.

It was a committed and determined display from Dromore which saw Shauna Teague score Dromore’s first point in the second half after eighteen minutes.  Niamh Colton won the ball for Dromore in the full back line and a quick counter attack saw the ball eventually coming to Erin Slevin, who made no mistake with a good finish to the back of the net.  

Entering the final ten minutes the determination continued with a free popped over the bar by Erin Barrett and Ardboe scoring the final point of the match as Dromore finished victorious. Meadhbh Campbell scored the Arboe goal while Serena O’Neill was among the points for the Lough Shore girls.
