What is it they say about waiting for a bus and two come along at the same time. Well for Edendork Camogs the past weekend saw the club compete in two finals and lift two titles.

The senior team defeated Brocagh on Friday night in the Junior Final and on Sunday the club’s minors defeated Naomh Treasa at Derrytresk in the final to make it a double success for the club.

Several players were involved in both finals with defensive kingpin Annabelle Mc Ateer outstanding for her team. Team captain Sinead Mc Geary led by example while player of the match Liana De Ogiveira produced a superb display for the winners.

Goalkeeper Olivia Mc Guinness made several great saves while her puc outs helped relieve the pressure on her team on numerous occasions. Up front Lara Devlin (1-6) and Bronagh Moohan (2-1) were a constant source of trouble for the Dungannon girls who found them a real handful throughout the game.

Dungannon’s full back Niamh Doran and Bronagh Barker at centre half stood out in their defence while upfront Claire Kelly worked tirelessly at wing half forward.  Eimear Colton was Dungannon’s key ‘go to’ player at centre half forward and was their major threat in attack, in addition to converting any frees within 50-60 yards. Two goals from the stick of Eimear Colton helped her team reduce the deficit at the break to five points with Edendork leading 2-6 to 2-1.

The winners were five clear at half time 2-6 to 2-1 but the game was far from over with both teams playing some excellent Camogie. In spite of the best efforts of Eimear Colton, Briana Douglas and Sophie Mc Kee Edendork continued to add to their tally before eventually winning 4-8 to 3-4.

Scorers for Edendork:
Lara Devlin 1-6
Bronagh Moohan 2-1
Grainne Maxwell 1-0
Sinead McGeary 0-1
