Division Three League Final

Coalisland Fianna 4-10

Kildress Wolfe Tones 1-6

There was little doubt about the outcome of Satutrday’s division three final as a brace of first half goals from Nicole Murphy helped steer Coalisland to a nine point half time lead against Kildress at Killyman. Murphy turned in a clinical display for the Fianna and learning from their country final loss they never took their foot off the gas and kept the scoreboard ticking over throughout.

Kildress who started nervously did improve in the second half but despite the best efforts of Chloe Tracey, Eimear Mc Aleer and Eilis Keenan they hadn’t enough in the tank to turn over a well organised Fianna side with Fionuala Rafferty leading the defence, Murphy, Laura Mc Nulty and Eadaoin Early all impressive in attack.

Murphy, Aoife Quinn and Una Mc Sherry all hit  points before Murphy rattled home her first goal eight minutes in. Tracey hit early points for the Tones as Murphy fired in a second goal, adding a point alongside a well taken Early score as they missed a series of chances and Kildress keeper Charleen Quinn denied Mc Sherry.

Murphy pointed seconds after the restart although Kildress were right back in the game, Ann Marie Lennon hit the post and on thirty six minutes Tracey’s speculative effort caught Kelly off her line for a goal.

Hopes of a comeback were dashed though when Laura Mc Nally crashed home a goal and Milena Mihadjuka finished a well worked move to the net as Caeleain O’Donnell, Early and Murphy all tagged on points. Tracey worked in a brace of points and Keenan all found the range although it failed to spoil the Blues title win.
