All County League

This week its the turn of Galbally midfielder Ronan Nugent to take the Murphys Gloves senior club player Q+A

1. Earliest GAA memory

Playing in an u8 tournament & scoring a goal with my head.

2. Who has been the biggest influences on your career?

My Parents were the biggest influences. Would be about to give me advice, whether I want to hear it or not!

3. The best GAA venue you have played at?

Croke park – unreal. Great experience getting to play there on All Ireland Final day in 2013.

4. School participation and/or success.

I played in a few finals for St Ciarans Ballygawley but unfortunately I never won one.

5. Club/ County role models that you looked up to as a youth

Kieran McCrory was someone I always looked up to in our club, a real leader in our squad – particularly last year. County level, it has to be Peter Canavan – a joy to watch

6. Other sports that you played or had an interest in.

I played soccer for Dungannon United Youth right up until u15, then I had to do decide between Gaelic or soccer! Used to hammer James Kennedy at basketball over in England!

7. Most difficult opponent you have faced in club football and why?

Colm Cavanagh – Hard man to catch once he gets up to full speed!

8. Best player you have ever seen play Gaelic football

Peter Canavan – easy!

9. If you could replay one game in your career which one would it be and why?

The Championship final of last year – would love to do it all again!!

10. The best GAA match that you ever saw.

Dublin v Kerry 2013

11.What was the most memorable match that you ever played in?
The Championship final last year, it was a mad day. Or playing in semi final of the All Ireland minor championship in 2013 against Roscommon

12. Your own involvement around the club.

Apart from playing I help out with the minor girls, I’ve been over them for the past two years.

13. How much are you looking forward to football returning?

I can’t wait to get back at it – looking forward to get back on to Pearse Park again.

14. Favourite county jersey (not Tyrone)

Dublin jersey

15. Are you a fan of penalties to decide the outcome of championship games?

No. You should get a winner through the game whether you go to another period of extra time or a replay.
