Key Times for Ladies Football

LADIES FOOTBALL FOCUS..

County Scene..

Tyrone senior ladies squad have no league game this St Patrick’s weekend as colleges hold centre stage but they’ll return to the fray following that for final fixtures v Mayo and Cork, writes Damien Donnelly.

 It was good to see the side get into winning mode away to Kildare on Sunday, Joline Donnelly back from injury and contributing five points.

 Catriona McGahan and Sarah Donnelly bagged goals but the overall the team display will have pleased Martina Dillon and the camp most. Hopefully it’s onwards and upwards from here.

 The Ulster minor championship tie between Down and Tyrone met with cancellation on ‘snowy’ Saturday and is being rescheduled.

 The county U-14’s play Donegal this Saturday as the Ulster element of that age-group gets underway.

 Tyrone teams are also set to get a good sponsorship boost but we’ll bring you more on that next week.

College Scene

The University of Limerick (UL) plays host this weekend to O’Connor, Giles and Lynch Cups plus Lynch Shield competitions.

 Tyrone will be well represented in Limerick on the various squads and best wishes to all participants.

 There was no luck for Holy Cross girls of Strabane in this week’s Ulster ‘C’ U-20 final against Carrickmacross St Louis but the Holy Cross camp can hold their heads up high at the conclusion of a good campaign.

 Omagh Loreto carry Tyrone and Ulster hopes into All-Ireland semi-final action next weekend as they take on Carlow St Leo’s in the U-20 ‘A’ grade.

 St Patrick’s Academy eye an Ulster U-16 ‘A’ semi up ahead during the course of the week. Dungannon St Patrick’s College have an Ulster ‘D;’ quarter-final tie soon.
