Local rivals Kildress and Greencastle met in the final of the Grade Two Minor League at Dunmoyle before the Wolfe Tones emerged victorious by seven points on a score line of 2-6 to 0-5. There was little between the teams in the first half as Cahir Mc Cullagh and Dermot Mc Aleer traded points with Matthew Haigney before Caolan Mc Namee opened up a three point gap for Kildress with a goal just after the twentieth minute.
Things changed little early in the second period with the three point gap remaining thanks to points from Haigney and Conor Mc Aleer for the Wolfe Tones and Gabhan Slane for Greencastle. It was Caolan Mc Namee’s second goal that sealed the game for Kildress and they went on to win fairly comfortably in the end and become League champions for 2011.
