Ladies Lose Out To Monaghan

Tyrone senior ladies made it three defeats from three starts on Sunday as they fell to a 5-14 to 1-11 defeat to a much improved Monaghan side at Clones.

Farney flyers Ciara Mc Anespie, Edel Mc Carron and Cora Courtney did most of the damage to the Tyrone cause and were key as Monaghan established an eighteen point half time lead. The Red Hands looked like rabbits in the headlights at times as Monaghan capitalised on the wide open spaces of St Tiernach’s Park. The scores came thick and fast in a very impressive first half display from the home side. Tyrone did improve after the break and outscored Monaghan  1-8 to 1-5 but in truth the game was over as a contest long before that. Chloe Mc Caffrey top scored for Tyrone on the day with 1-4 while Aoibhin Mc Hugh weighed in with 1-2 but manager Kevin Mc Crystal will have plenty of food for thought as he sets about preparing his side for their relegation play-off against Wexford.
