There was no league action for Tyrone last week as they have already progressed into the National League semi-final. They will play Cavan on Sunday 21st April after Cavan defeated Kildare on Sunday in Breffni Park with a score line of Cavan 0:14 to Kildare 2:05. When Tyrone met Cavan earlier in the league it was Tyrone who came out on top. Tyrone will have home advantage and should have a full panel from which to choose as the injuries sustained to players in previous matches have been quick to heal.
The seniors continued their relentless training regime in preparation for this week’s all important tie. The date for the final has been set for Saturday May 4th and in the other half of the draw heavy favourites Carlow will be up against Kildare.
The Ulster Championship launch took place at The Athletic Grounds Armagh on Monday evening. The photo shoot was attended by all the captains and managers of the respective county teams. Tyrone will this year be in the Intermediate section along with Antrim II and Down II. This will be a round robin competition which will see Tyrone starting with an away fixture on April 28th against Down II.

On the domestic scene there were wins for Father Shields, Dungannon, Eglish and Éire Óg in the Post Primary league which has an abundance of teams competing this year. Dungannon and Eglish played some exciting camogie on Monday at Dungannon’s hurling pitch. The match was played in great spirit and last year’s finalists were watched and cheered on by a huge crowd. Eglish prevailed in the end and they now progress to the next stage.

Edendork will host the first Go Games Blitzes of 2013. It will be held on Saturday 27th April at 10:00 am and is for the u6, u8, and u10 age group range. All clubs are expected to attend the event and to contact Pete Doherty beforehand to advise of the age groups to be entered for each club. Pete can be contacted via email on p.doherty52@btinternet.com before Monday 22nd April.

Commiserations to the Tyrone senior hurlers who were narrowly defeated on Saturday past by Monaghan and are now unfortunately relegated to Division 3B for next year. Tyrone scoring supremo Damian Casey was on form on the day but it just wasn’t to be for the Red Hands.
