Trillick (3-05) v Sperrin Óg (1-09)

Trillick just about got the better of Sperrin Óg in their league meeting winning 3-5 to 1-9. The Reds played most of the game with fourteen players following a first half red card and a converted penalty from Cathleen Kelly who finished on the night with 2-2 for the winners. Dearbhla Gallagher also bagged a goal for Trillick who led at the break 3-2 to 1-2. Aileen Tuohey (1-2), Leah Mc Guigan (2) and Meaghan Clarke were among the scorers for Sperrin Óg while Orla Coyle and Eadaoin Fox were superb through out.

Moy defeated Drumragh

Moy recorded another good win this time against Drumragh 3-14 to 2-9 having been drawing at half time 1-5 apiece. The second half saw some high quality play and scores from both sides but I was Moy who prevailed in the end winning on a final score of Drumragh 2-9  Moy 3-14.

Edendork enjoyed a fairly comfortable win over Glenelly with Sinead Mc Geary (2-2) and Maeve Maxwell (2-8) heading the scoring returns. Eva Corr (1-0) and Eva Cullen (1-0) also hit the net for their side while Nicole Donaghy (0-2) and Bronagh Moohan (0-1) concluded the scoring for the winners. Final score : Edendork 6-13, Glenelly 1-10.

Pomeroy v Naomh Eoghan

Naomh Eoghan found the Plunketts in superb form when they met in the championship at the weekend with Maureen Ennis leading the line for Pomeroy hitting 4-3 while Patricia Mc Donald chipped in with 2-3. Credit to the Naomh Eoghan girls who battled to the end with their scores coming from Claragh Hargan (1-0), Erin Gallagher (1-0), Aoibheann Gallagher (0-1) and Jessica O’Brien.

LEAGUE SEMI FINALS

Loughmacrory hosted Coalisland Fianna in their league semi final and were pushed all the was by the East Tyrone girls before emerging narrow winners on the night. Indeed it took a superb catch from full back Eimhear Slane right at the death to prevent a winning score for Coalisland. The game was a real battle of defences with Loughmacrory leading 0-4 to 0-1 at the break. Coalisland began the second half on top and reduced the gap to a single point. Both sides played well and took some fine scores but with Aisling Logue, Oonagh Gallagher and Niamh Fox outstanding the Loch girls held on to win by the narrowest of margins. Kerri Grimes was top scorer on the night with 0-7, 0-5 from frees with Claire Gallagher getting the other score from play.

Clonoe Ladies welcomed Beragh to Páirc Uí Rathaille tonight in the Junior League Semi Final. With both teams battling to reach the League Final next week, the crowd enjoyed a great hour of football. It was the Clonoe Ladies who came out on top, reaching their first ever Junior League County Final.

Aine Heagney opened the scoring for the home team before Orlagh Gavin added another through a free. Beragh responed with a point from a free but Sinead Hanna (0-1) and Orlagh Gavin (1-01) kept the scoreboard ticking over for the home side. Beragh were struggling to settle but added a second point just as Clonoe were warming to the task. Shannon Donnelly was in imperious form at fullback along with Sinead Hanna and Fionnuala O’Neill. Sinead Hanna added another point before Clonoe lost their full back, Shannon Donnelly after an accidental collision with a Beragh player. With Clonoe leading by 6, Beragh closed the deficit to 3 when they found the net but Clonoe’s Sinead Hanna wrapped up the first half scoring with another point before the half time whistle.

In the second half, Clonoe continued to dominate with points from Brona MacOscar and Orlagh Gavin before Beragh raised the green flag again. Clonoe responded in style with further points from Orlagh Gavin (0-02), Briana Quinn, Aimee Hughes and Caoimhe Coyle (0-1 each) while at the other end, Player of the Match, Eimhear Cushnahan took charge in the back line, repelling Beragh attacks with confidence and skill. In the dying moments, Beragh got a goal but Clonoe weren’t to be denied reaching their first Junior League Final.
