Errigal Ciaran 2-7 Omagh 1-5

Defending champions Errigal Ciaran are back in another league final after comfortably seeing off the challenge of Omagh at Dunmoyle on Saturday afternoon. The home side enjoyed a blistering start with a third minute goal from Enda McGinley and they never looked back as they led 1-5 to 0-1 at the break with Peter Harte hitting a trio of points, a Conan Grugan free Omagh’s only response.

McGinley and Caolan Tierney increased their advantage on the restart before Ronan O’Neill knocked over an Omagh free. In the 16th minute though the game was ended as a contest when Ciaran McGinley scrambled the ball to the net and while the hosts failed to score again they had done more than enough to clinch victory. Grugan, O’Neill and full back Hugh Gallagher had Omagh points while substitute Cathal McCarron got a late goal but it proved to be only a consolation score. In the closing moments Joe McMahon and Peter Harte were both sent off for second yellow card offences in separate incidents.
