Team Talk Mag

The draws for the Danske Bank MacRory, MacLarnon and Markey Cup quarter finals were made at the Riddell Hotel in Belfast on Monday afternoon. Tyrone are doubly represented in the MacRory Cup although both Omagh CBS and St.Ciarans Ballygawley still have to negotiate playoffs at the end of January in order to reach the last eight of the competition.

Should Omagh CBS get past the challenge of  St.Macartans Monaghan then they will face holders St.Marys Magherafelt in what would be a repeat of last season’s quarter final. St.Ciarans face Monaghan opposition in their playoff as well in the form of Patrician High Carrickmacross and if they were to come through there they would face St.Ronan’s Lurgan in the last eight. Those two playoff games are down for decision between 24th and 28th of January.

In the MacLarnon Cup Holy Trinity Cookstown will bid to keep the title in Tyrone for another 12 months after St.Ciarans success last season. They have been paired with St.Patricks Downpatrick in the quarter final with those games due to be played before February 10th.

In the Markey Cup the Tyrone challenge will be led by St.Joseph’s Donaghmore. They will be playing Donegal opponents in the quarter final but its not sure who that is yet as there are two outstanding games to be played in Group A of the competition namely Abbey CS v Glenties and Coláiste na Carraige v Coláiste Cholmchille Ballyshannon. St.Josephs will face whoever finishes runner up in that group. TTM look forward to bringing up updates from these games in association with Metro CCTV.
