Omagh CBS put themselves into a strong position in their Dalton Cup final at the Moy against St Colman’s College Newry opening up a six point lead at the break. Taking time to settle they were 0-1 to no score up after ten minutes following a point from Oran Sludden. A couple of Conor Loughran points helped the Brothers build a 0-4 to 0-1 lead but the Omagh school got a huge break when a Colmans penalty hit the post after 19 minutes. Omagh made the most of their lucky break and points from Eoghan Keenan, Oisin Donnelly and Eoin Grimes left them 0-7 to 0-1 ahead at the break. Omagh face the wind in the second half.

An explosive start to the second half as full forward Oran Sludden finds the net to give his team the perfect start. However the Newry school go straight down the other side and hit the net themselves. With five minutes of the second half gone Omagh led 1-8 to 1-1.

However as the wind picked up Colmans came more and more into the game and with twelve minutes of the second half gone they hit the net for a second goal to trail 1-8 to 2-2 but the momentum appeared to have swung in favour of the Newry College. A third goal put them ahead for the first time 3-4 to 1-9 and Omagh appeared to be in trouble as they struggled to cope with conditions and a strong, confident Newry team. A TP Cunningham free gave Omagh some hope but Colmans responded with further points to win 1-10 to 3-08.
