Omagh’s attacking half back Dean O’Neill has been drafted into Antrim’s McKenna Cup panel for the start of the competition this weekend. O’Neill lives and works in Belfast and has taken up the offer from Saffrons manager Liam Bradley who reportedly tried to get him on board last season. Dean first came to prominence when winning a MacRory Cup medal as well as a Colleges All Star award in the same season with Omagh CBS and was a member of the 2004 Tyrone minor panel which won Ulster and All Ireland honours under Martin Coyle and Liam Donnelly. He will continue to play his club football for the St.Endas though where he played a key role in helping his club reach the semi finals of both the league and championship in 2010.
