O’Neill Wins All Ireland Handball Singles.

Shane O’Neill returns home tonight the proud holder of The All Ireland Junior Handball Singles title after defeating Brendan Fleming of Cork in what was a pulsating match. There was absolutely nothing between the two players during the first two games which finished 21-20 in favour of the Tyrone lad and then 21-19 in favour of Fleming. The third and decisive game saw O’Neill get just reward for all his hard work and attention to detail over the past few months as he produced a brilliant display to take the game 21-3 and with it the All Ireland Title.
Unfortunately Tyrone’s other hope for success Maeve Mc Elduff found her Galway opponent Ciana Ni Chorrain in top form and the pre tournament favourite overcame the Tyrone girl’s challenge 21-4 and 21-12.
