Pomeroy produced a superb second half display in difficult weather conditions in Carrickmore to come from behind to beat Beragh on a 1-14 to 0-7 scoreline.
The Red Knights at the wind at their backs in the first half and after Kieran McGeary and Ronan Duffin had traded points with Conor Owens they moved 0-5 t 0-2 in front with scores from Martin Rodgers, Owens and Paddy McCann. In the 18th minute Kieran McGeary stopped a Beragh attack and his pass sent Frank Burns straight through on goal from forty metres out and he ran through to slot home. In the next attack though Beragh responded with a well worked goal of their own from Owens as they led by two at the break.
A Rodgers free was followed by a superb effort rom paly from McCann but with only five minutes gone in the second half that proved to be Beragh’s last score. Pomeroy played some superb football as they kicked the last eleven points to win comfortably enough in the end. GO POWER man of the match Duffin added another four points from midfield with his partner Ryan Loughran getting a brace and there were points from McGeary, Hugh McNamee and Jude Campbell as well.
