A second half masterclass from Pomeroy saw them recover from being four points behind at the break to hold Owen Roes scoreless in the second half to qualify for the semi final of the Connolly’s of Moy Intermediate championship.

Pomeroy were quick out of the blocks at Healy Park and led early on but Owen Roes plundered a brace of goals and deservedly reached half time leading 2-3 to 0-5. Unfortunately that was as good as it got for the Leckpatrick lads and Pomeroy totally took over after the break to win 2-12 to 2-3.

Early points from Jude Campbell and Frank Burns gave their side the perfect start before a point from Ryan Mc Shane and two goals from Ryan Devine rattled the Plunketts. Hugh Mc Namee and Conn Tinney swapped points but further points from a rattled Pomeroy side courtesy of Kieran Mc Geary and Ronan Duffin narrowed the gap to three before the impressive Tony Devine of Owen Roes rounded off the scoring for the first half.

Pomeroy were a transformed team after the break as they took the game to Owen Roes at pace and with purpose. Hugh J Cunningham got the ball rolling with a point inside the first minute of the second half. Owen Roes worked hard to keep the chances to a minimum but the points kept coming. Ronan Duffin, Kieran Mc Geary, Hugh Mc Namee and Peter Rafferty all added points to put Pomeroy two clear after twenty five minutes of the second half and as Owen Roes tried in vain to create a goal Pomeroy broke twice to hit the net themselves. The goals came from Aidan Coyle and Jude Campbell and put a gloss on what was a good performance.
