Sperrin Og won the Ladies Grade Two Under 16 league title tonight with a very commanding display at Youth Sport in Killyclogher. They defeated a gallant Errigal Ciaran team on a scoreline of 4-14 to 1-02 after a superb all round team performance. Their first goal came after nine minutes when corner forward Eimear Bradley stole through to finish to the net. The Greencastle girls never looked back and with Claire Tuohey, Niamh O’Neill and Carla Mc Cann dominating the middle third Sperrin Og built up a 1-11 to 1-02 at the break.

The game continued in similar fashion during the second half as Errigal were held scoreless by a teak tough Sperrin Og defence in which Ciara Fox, Claire Coyle, Niamh Coyle and Rebecca Coyle were outstanding. Lauryn Holywood had a very impressive game in goals for the winners bringing off several fine saves including one from a penalty as her team made no mistake in lifting the title. The winners added three further goals in the second half including two from county under 16 players Niamh O’Neill and Emma Clarke as they ran out convincing and worthy winners.
