St.Macartans Reach U21 Semi

Augher are through to the grade two U21 semi final after a 2-14 to 0-10 win over Donaghmore at Father Hackett Park on Sunday afternoon. There was little between the sides in the opening period with the St.Macartans shading things 1-4 to 0-6 thanks to a Francis McElroy goal and two points each from Raymond McElroy and Jamie Donnelly, Niall McKenna, Mark Nugent, Mark Faloon and Conor Hegarty on target for the visitors. On the restart Donnelly and Faloon exchanged points before Augher hit 1-5 without reply inside six minutes to take control of things. Declan Connolly, Rory Cassidy and Donnelly supplied points with Colm Sherry getting the goal. Donaghmore never recovered after that and despite another McKenna point it was Augher who ran out comfortable winners with Martin McElhatton getting their final score.
